Not a practice — a result: what attention does by default once the past is closed, the future is delegated to a self you trust, and nothing in you is banned. Note the empty chemistry row, which is the whole finding: presence is not produced. It is what remains.

HOW IT IS TRAINED
Not trainable directly — attention held by force is a beach ball underwater. Built by subtraction: grieve the backlog to the end, keep promises until the future has a trustee, end the civil war so no wing of you is exiled. Children have it natively for exactly these reasons: no backlog, a delegated future, nothing yet banned.
NOTE & CRAFT
Attention itself. The lamp is factory equipment.
Not trained directly at all. Presence is a result — the residue of a closed past and a trusted future. The craft is elsewhere: close the loops, and the lamp steadies on its own.
Two diagnostics split them anywhere: the arrival-feel — recognition (“I was this all along”) is a note unblocked; brick-by-brick is craft — and the energy test — playing the note energizes even when hard; performing an import drains even when easy. Sheet 03 →
THE COUNTERFEIT
DETACHMENT
The surface-reader's copy of the far shore: caring removed instead of guarding retired. From outside it photographs like presence — nothing provokes it. From inside, nobody is home. Not-caring that comes from emptying yourself; the genuine article is not-needing that comes from being full.
THE TELL — The barking dog. A lion doesn't stir — not restraint, arithmetic — and if the dog actually bites, something proportionate happens. Detachment doesn't stir because nothing is left on guard duty. Ask whether the caring is still in there, intact and fully funded.
